Learning To Walk!

I often ask myself why I fall
It’s not always clear to me
When I trip over the same things multiple times
I start wondering ‘How in the world could this be God’s will?’
I know there’s perfect peace in Him
Why can’t I have it all the time?
It’s because I’m learning to walk

If we believe there’s a reason for everything
Then every “trip” is a lesson
It’s frustrating to see how we can find ourselves falling so often
But isn’t it easier for us to worship when we find ourselves at a point of total humility?
Isn’t it easier to let God help us up when we’ve already fallen to our knees?
He picks us up and teaches us how to walk

But we have to be the ones that continue to press on
Always learning, always growing
Always trusting, always desiring
Falling, but finding Christ to be a prayer away
He’s teaching us how to walk
He’ll keep us up as long as we trust in Him for strength
He’ll keep us moving forward as long as we follow His lead

So give your all to Him
He’ll never let you down
He always has a plan
Trust Him
Learn to walk

  1. This is great, Matt! I seem to have forgotten that you are a poet like me! This is such an encouragement, and since giving my life back to Christ in October, I have definitely learned to take a few steps. I'm picturing God holding onto my hands over my head like parents do when you're a baby, guiding me gently with each step I take. Great job!
